"Climate Legacy" captures the tension between industrialization and nature, serving as a visual testimony to the consequences of climate change. The scene presents a disturbing contrast: a factory chimney emitting dense clouds of smoke into a blue sky, interrupted by fluffy white clouds, while a child, seen from behind, observes the devastation from an arid field resembling a desert. Beside the child stands a lush, green tree, a symbol of hope but also of fragility. This solitary witness of life seems to challenge the surrounding destruction, reflecting the struggle between innocence and the inevitable legacy of a world in crisis. The work invites deep reflection on the legacy we are leaving for future generations, using a combination of natural and artificial elements to emphasize the urgency of climate action.

"I consider myself a creator of images, because more than reproducing reality or aspects of daily life, I try to capture the moments that escape everyday visual history and that from my vision are perpetuated forever." I have been awarded the Medal of Artistic Merit for the year 1999, awarded by the government of the state of Yucatán.
