ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I just like to watch the sportsman, in this case the racing motor cyclist, in action and then visualising him without his vehicle! In this case in the bend with his knee on the ground. It was quite a challenge to get the position right. I used to go to the bike races when i was younger to watch Barry Sheen and Kenny somebody (Roberts?) but i haven't been now for many years so i hope the leaning knee on ground position is ok!

I was born in England but have been living in Holland for 35 years. I've been working for myself as a ceramic artist for 25 years. My passion is throwing so my sculptures are also all made out of thrown pieces. I also enjoy making unusual teapots. Last year i won two prizes in China with my teapots. I get my inspiration from everywhere, from something i might have seen on the news to people waiting for a bus. I like to "use" my art for expressing an opinion, either political, environmental or whatever other random thought i might have. I also like to put some humor into the work even though it can be a serious subject. I'm hoping to make people think but with a smile on their face.
